mmmmixtape: Finally found some time to watch it. An oversimplification of a complex issue, but I think that’s what they’re going for. Being in advertising, I can see a future full of companies adopting this kind of compelling social movement, and maybe the windfall will turn some people off to it. Maybe people will grow tired or skeptical of the message. But for the moment, Invisible Children has created something worth paying attention to. You can argue a lot of things, but I doubt there is much to argue about how good of a filmmaker Jason Russell is, and how badly Joseph Kony needs to be brought to justice in 2012. Maybe just this once, being on a bandwagon isn’t such a bad thing.
