Texas Rangers vs New York Yankees Game 3: MLB 2010 Playoffs Update

Starting pitcher Cliff Lee was razor-sharp as he dominated the New York Yankees 8-0 in Game 3 of the best-of-seven AL Championship Series to give the Texas Rangers a 2-1 lead on Monday night. The left-handed ace allowed just two singles in eight innings and struck out 13, making him the first pitcher with three double-digit strikeouts in one postseason. New York suffered its biggest loss in postseason and should be looking to regroup in Game 4 on Tuesday. New York will start A.J. Hunter against Tommy Hunter for the Rangers. The Yankees would need to win three straight games to avoid a potential showdown with Lee once again in Game 7 at Texas. Josh Hamilton got to work early in the first inning with a two-run homer of Yankees starter Andy Pettitte. Hamilton also sparked a six-run ninth inning with a double. Nelson Cruz and Bengie Molina hit RBI singles each in the ninth. Mitch Moreland hit a two-run single, Elvis Andrus doubled for another run and Moreland scored on a wild pitch.
