Interesante evento organizado por Yahoo!; el Yahoo! Summit Series GoinMobile, además de centrarse en la publicidad móvil que es la mejor manera de monetizar el tráfico en teléfonos, presentaron varios productos que estaban disponibles en USA y que, personalmente, uso bastante.

Steve Boom, el Senior Vice President de Connected Life, dió algunas definiciones muy buenas: The world is the inventory, location is everything, mobile is young (the hardest to catch segment)

Plataforma de desarrollo con Yahoo Widget Plattform; abren su reach al atacar todas las platadormas sin tener que desarrollar ellos mismos. (Yahoo Go! 3.0)

También hablo de una estrategia, Mobile First, porque no sirve encastrar la experiencia de PC en un movil lo que significa tomar las tecnologías sobre experiencias pensadas para un telefono móvil primero que nada.. y así agrupan sus Yahoo Essential Services (son los servicios que describo al final y que salen en alianza con Movistar)

Tal vez lo mejor es cuando dijo que no le prestan atención a las estimaciones de crecimiento de Publicidad Movil; porque uno dice que van a estar en USD12.000 millones, otros en USD3.000 millones pero todo es “a futuro”.. y es lógico que termine hablando, en cambio, de la penetracion de moviles vs PC.

El detalle que no menciona es la diferencia de experiencia y de neutralidad de red entre operadoras y red

Luego vino el turno de Martín Piombo, Vice President and General Manager, Connected Life Latin America, que habló de la distribución de contenidos en Latam; un cobranding con America Movil y Telefonica Móviles les da acceso al 60% del mercado móvil en latam; con una ventaja… location-based y terminal- targeting

¿Como se vende por ahora la publicidad móvil?Por ahora se esta vendiendo como Branding o Sponsorship, porque no hay un mercado robusto para vender con metricas tradicionales.

Cuando habló Madeline Herdrich (Vice President, Mobile at Paramount Pictures) más allá de algunas estadísticas de CTR y porcentaje de respuestas; fue ver como hay un ecosistema rodeando a la industria del contenido /ej: Envio de contenidos, Alertas para vender entradas, lanzamientos, DVD, etc./

Pero el uso de los móviles para la creacion de comunidad y comunicacion para las secuelas fue la mejor estrategia que vi; ahora… todo lindo, pero es porque ellos comercializan contenidos y eso te da una creatividad que no te dan otros clientes.. o anunciantes.. o empresas.. de hecho pocos productos como entertainment te dan estas opciones donde el retorno no es, simplemente, vender una pastilla de viagra :P

Entonces, si lo combinas con internet, tenes un ecosistema viral de la puta madre.. sino, miren a JJ Abrams y su uso de Movil/Net para Lost ;)

Productos finales presentados que ya había probado… Yahoo Go! 3.0 como plataforma con widgets y todo; Yahoo OneSearch que es su aplicación de búsqueda con reconocimiento de voz y que, además, tiene un asistente de búsqueda… por tipeo y Yahoo OneConnect que integra en una pantalla todas las conexiones que podés tener, sean de redes sociales, Favoritos de navegación, etc.
