La idea de preservar el espacio exterior de la carrera de armamentos debería ser un objetivo. Ahora bien, estamos en una encrucijada vital, el mantenimiento del equilibrio ecológico de nuestro planeta debería estar entre otra de nuestras tareas. Sin una casa común capaz de navegar por el espacio es imposible sostener nuestro ego. La última frontera debe estar apartada de la lucha estatal. Ir hacia el espacio, para regresar y derrotar a otro estado se nos antoja terrible. Máxime si aún debemos aumentar la investigación para desarrollar el siguiente hábitat.

¿Y donde se encuentra este limite vital e histórico?. El mito de Superman nos atrae y fascina. Su planeta y los habitantes que llegaron hasta aquí, dentro de una gran botella y continúan viviendo un recorte de su pasado. ¿Deseamos para nuestra tierra un ejemplo parecido?.

¿Seriamos capaces de aceptar que una parte de nosotros marchara hacia el espacio ante la crisis medioambiental. ¿O ante el colapso debido a un meteorito venido de una orbita lejana?.

La iniciativa pazenelespacio de preservar el espacio exterior de armas nos debe hacer reflexionar. El nuevo Oeste (Far West) soñado, debe ser un territorio libre de las pistolas y su ley: “quien dispara en defensa propia no puede ser juzgado”. Pero, para ello están las excelentes películas de Holywood. El mito que anima en nuestras cabezas debe dejar paso a una polis nueva.

¡Al espacio exterior debemos ir sin pistolas colegas!

Dear Diary,

Whilst lying in bed this morning I decided to check the news from my BlackBerry and found out that John McCain thinks the government should offer up a prize of $300 million to anyone who can engineer a new car battery that surpasses current technology. While I like the idea of this, I really don’t think McCain gives a damn about the current state of the planet’s health. Our country is far too dependent on oil, whether it be foreign or abroad, and alternative fuels and vehicles running on such are far too expensive than the general population can afford. Look at the Tesla roadster, for example, that’s more of a fashion statement than anything else. Why not build an electric car for the masses instead?

However, McCain has proposed that car makers be fined for not abiding by fuel-efficiency standards. He also wants to implement incentives for those using domestic and foreign alcohol-based fuels like ethanol, but he fails to realize that ethanol is a dead end. The aforementioned proposal would also provide US car makers with a tax credit of $5,000 for each zero-carbon emissions vehicle sold.

Yeah, I hope this catches on, but something tells me the car makers of this country will squash this idea rather quickly. It’s sad, really.

Manheim, Pennsylvania - Chris Paveglio has released ID Image Catalog 3.30. ID Image Catalog allows users to make InDesign contact sheets or catalogs of images. Users can quickly and easily make visual catalogs of most major image types supported by InDesign, and can include file name, file path, placement scale information. It is a free updated for current users.

Version 3.30, includes on the fly scanning of document size presets and fixes a problem with the previous version not honoring preferences between runs, as well as compatibility with Leopard (10.5).

We’ve seen far too many pictures of the current Apple iPhone. We’ve seen it from every which angle, doing just about everything that it can possibly do. We’ve also seen a good number of photos of the upcoming iPhone 3G. Only now, however, have we finally been able to see the current iPhone and the iPhone 3G next to one another for a true side-by-side comparison.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a Nintendo fanboy. I’ve stuck by the side of Shigeru Miyamoto for many years, having proudly owned everything from the original Nintendo Entertainment System and puke green-screened Game Boy right up to the current DS Lite and wave-tastic Wii. Even so, given the amazing success that Nintendo has been enjoying these past couple of years, I find it a little surprising that it hasn’t expressed even the least bit of interest in entering the mobile phone market.

Snapplr makes it exceptionally easy to take screenshots and share them. The screenshots will be hosted either locally, on Snapplr’s embedded webserver or on Snapplr’s server. Snapplr, by default, is operated exactly like Mac OS X’s screenshoting facilities, integrating perfectly in the user workflow. Route 66 was one of the most unique American television dramas of the 1960s, an ostensible adventure series that functioned, in practice, as an anthology of downbeat character studies and psychological dramas. Its 1960 premiere launched two young drifters in a Corvette on an existential odyssey in which they encountered a myriad of loners, dreamers and outcasts in the small towns and big cities along U.S. Highway 66 and beyond. And the settings were real; the gritty social realism of the stories was enhanced by location shooting that moved beyond Hollywood hills and studio backlots to encompass the vast face of the country itself. Route 66 took the anthology on the road, blending the dramaturgy and dramatic variety of the Studio One school of TV drama with the independent filmmaking practices of the New Hollywood.

Route 66 was the brainchild of producer Herbert B. Leonard and writer Stirling Silliphant, the same creative team responsible for Naked City. The two conceived the show as a vehicle for actor George Maharis, casting him as stormy Lower East Side orphan Buz Murdock, opposite Martin Milner as boyish, Yale-educated Tod Stiles. When Tod's father dies, broke but for a Corvette, the two young men set out on the road looking for "a place to put down roots." Maharis left the show in 1963 in a dispute with the show's producers, and was replaced by Glenn Corbett as Linc Case, a troubled Vietnam Nam vet also seeking meaning on the road.

es percibido por una parte de la sociedad europea y española como determinante para su oposición. Además, está implícito en el discurso del poder. Es la décima potencia del mundo quien elabora su cuasi-ambición, definida por una alianza con el Estado imperial, aceptando participar descaradamente en las negociaciones, frente a sociedades antiguas, que dormitan bajo la religión o una Élite corrupta.

Es, por qué no decirlo, un cambio geopolítico. Desde la desaparición de la dictadura franquista, para la sociedad española, Marruecos ejerce, desde la legitimidad descolonizadora, una dosis de ambigüedad desestabilizadora del papel del neo poder de España en el Norte de África. Es así como se traslada el debate dentro de nuestra sociedad.

¿Y cuáles podrían ser sus argumentos más razonados de oposición, al considerar la participación en el conflicto de Irak?

Los primeros podríamos agruparlos siguiendo la estela de Pedro J. Ramirez, en El Mundo: “Nadie ha sido atacado tal y como requiere el articulo 51 de la Carta de la ONU, ni se han podido determinar que existieran armas de destrucción masiva o que existiera colaboración con Al Qaeda.”

Pero también un Estado que presume de ejercer la “bondad social”, y éste es el elemento que le aleja de la práctica de la Guerra Civil y el franquismo, no está autorizado al ejercicio institucional del ataque a otro Estado. Como podríamos también decir que la sociedad no acepta a manifestar el orgullo nacionalista por medios violentos.Y manifestar que hay una elección por una quietud autocomplaciente del consumo y mejora del estándar de vida.

Luego todo lo demás es historia. El gobierno de Aznar encontrará en estas dos decisiones un capítulo intenso en su posterior pérdida de legitimidad, que abriría el camino al 11M, en el cual este autor sigue considerando que su comportamiento en los días previos a las elecciones no fue –estricto sensu- la causa de su derrota electoral.

La mayoria de la población de estos países, así como la de la opinión pública mundial fue mayoritariamente contraria, haciéndose notar especialmente en las manifestaciones mundiales contra la guerra de Iraq. Bush recibió también el apoyo de los gobiernos de la República Checa, Eslovaquia, Eslovenia, los estados bálticos de Estonia, Letonia y Lituania, las islas mediterráneas de Malta y Chipre; el estado de Israel o el de Kuwait. Francia, Alemania, China, México y Rusia manifestaron su oposición a medidas de fuerza contra Iraq y fueron partidarios de una salida negociada a la crisis. Francia, Rusia y China, miembros permanentes del Consejo de Seguridad, abogaban por la continuidad de la labor de los inspectores y anunciaron su intención de vetar cualquier documento que legitimase explícitamente el ataque. Durante estas demostraciones se produjeron varios roces entre Estados Unidos y los países que se oponían a la invasión. Es un rito explicarla, lenta, altiva es la representación de una hipoteca contraída, al nacer, con los solitarios senos abiertos y desiguales del malecón materno. Al aceptar la mezcla de genes que sin distingos nos hablan de ocasiones próximas.

Vemos, descubrimos que cada ser humano no deja de ser una excepcional muestra, de la insistencia por apropiarnos de la naturaleza. De proyectarnos hasta el confín de la galaxia. Este tardo-esquema de un alejado elemento racionalista que nos enfrenta a la clásica afirmación de Descartes, en la cual toda idea sobre Dios esta dentro de nosotros, pero no ha sido construida por nuestra limitada existencia.

Pero aún así, manejamos con suficiente soltura diferentes registros, de muecas, ante la adversidad, En todos aparece una especulación para dar sentido a cada emprendimiento que salvamos. Nos gusta fotografiar con mísera insistencia cada pieza del mástil. Insistimos perplejos con un “aquí estuve yo”.

Pero la cuchara de bicarbonato no hace más que aumentar nuestra acidez. Discutimos, polemizamos. De cada nudo de garganta, somos capaces de levantar una moda y con ella creernos que hemos inaugurado una nueva herramienta. O un nuevo escarmiento.

“Tengo el orgullo de presidir un gobierno donde hay mas mujeres que hombres”(Rodríguez Zapatero). Craso anatema. En la epoca de Franco el dictador decía todo lo contrario y opinaba que, lo suyo era la verdadera razón. Es hasta manierista ver que un gobierno presume de ejercer el sexismo, y este es tan progre que merece que le aplaudan. Bobadas antiguas precedieron a las modernas.

¡Este gobierno será el de la igualdad y para ello nada mejor que un ministerio!. ¡Cuanto más de desigual que la naranja exprimida!. Es tan dispar lo que oímos, que el mundo adulto enrojece de creer que haya algunos que divaguen ante un objetivo buscado por los peces socialistas de primeros del s XX. Pero estamos en el 21, y la metáfora del flautista de Hamelin ya es un cuento para los de 5 años. ¿Quien es capaz de ir detrás del sonido del progresista?. Solo en la pequeña Serbia, donde todos presumen de nacionalismo, y su lengua es una grande y libre, y el odio de la capital dispuesta a robarle el céntimo. En lo demás, todos presumimos de deudas, dolores y algún atisbo de una buena cerveza en la rambla de nuestro pueblo.

Pero estamos en año de predicadores. Y debemos dominarnos ante el optimismo del pianista cuando el barco se hunde. Se ira al profundo foso del mar. ¡Se ira!. Solo después Vd. –estimado lector- y este autor, arrancaremos las ultimas naranjas o pagaremos la sandia rayada a 5.27 o la normal a 5.58 Euros. (ver ticket).

Para muertos de risa, ver como nuestro inefable vendedor de sueños, regresa al primer cuento de su abuelo de León y constata que “sueños, sueños son”.
