Blacksburg, VA - Gotow.net is pleased to announce the immediate availability of NetSketch 1.0. NetSketch brings full featured collaborative drawing to the iPhone and iPod Touch and is available today through the App Store.

NetSketch allows you to draw on the iPod’s screen using a full range of colors and brush sizes. You can share drawings over the wireless network, and others using the NetSketch application can contribute to your work. As you draw, everyone’s changes are reflected in real time. Play tic-tac-toe against your buddy or create an enormous masterpiece. Privacy controls let you permit only certain people to see your drawings, or you can disable sharing entirely.

Unlike other drawing programs, NetSketch features infinite pan and zoom based on familiar gestures. When you draw, your work is rendered in a fully scalable vector space - independent of the size of the iPhone’s screen. When you zoom in, you get smooth, accurate lines - not huge pixels. You can draw at any level so it’s easy to add detail to your work and you never run out of room.

Your drawing can be much larger than the iPod’s screen and sometimes exporting a photo just doesn’t do it justice. Using NetSketch, you can upload your work to my.netsketchapp.com and pan and zoom through it the same way you would on the iPod.

El TX54 es más que un reloj, es el nuevo prototipo de tecnologías que estaremos viendo en un futuro no muy lejano. Y es que ya hemos hablado de otras tecnologías sorprendentes, como la torre que gira sus pisos sobre si misma.

El Timex TX54 es un reloj que se usa en las uñas. Sí, no estamos locos ni se nos ha soltado un tornillo por ahí. Este nuevo prototipo de reloj fue presentado en el evento 2154: The Future of Time Competition, y consta de una uña postiza semi-transparente, que contiene un poderoso indicador que muestra el tiempo.

En el extremo de esta uña postiza encontraremos la opción de poder configurar la hora y la fecha, que son los elementos que este aparatito muestra en un formato de números iluminados creados digitalmente.

Hasta el momento, se trata sólo de un prototipo en ls mentes de los ingenuos creadores -una respetable marca de relojes, por cierto- que ya piensa en cómo comercializarlo.

Ah, y, para variar, es desechable, por lo que ya puedes decir que estarás tirando el tiempo a la basura -¿malgastando el tiempo?-.

Apple once again is being suit, this time due to the iPhone 3G slow connection and excessive amount of dropped calls, Jessica Smith, from Alabama, believe that what she bought is not what Apple advertised, the poor 3G reception is far from twice the speed of the Edge technology in old iphones.

Smith is looking a Class Action Suit in order to get more traction from other users affected with the same problems, problems that Apple acknowledged, but hasn’t provide a real fix. Nobody knows the real cause of the slowness 3G, some say that there’s a problem in the 3G chip from Infineon, others point to AT&T as the real problem, but there is one only thing for sure: There is a Suit for this matter and now we will see who is to blame for this Product Quality Distrophia.

Would Apple replace every iPhone having 3G problem or will users be forced to wait until september for a fix? Apple has said that there is a fix on the pipeline, but the closer date for release it is September, maybe by that date the lawsuit will be bigger and the fix will force Apple to pay some money back and fix those faulty iphone.

I think that the only product in Apple history that hasn’t suffered a public lawsuit is the Mac Mini and the Displays, but every other product has put Apple in really hot water.

Adobe has been creating graphics applications since the begining of the Computer Age, conquering new markets and providing modern tools to get things done in a fraction of the time. But as time goes by Adobe has transformed itself in more than a graphic powerhouse, Adobe has acquired some enterprise tricks thanks to its merge with Macromedia, now its business relies more and more on Flash and Flex, technologies developed by Macromedia, that have put Adobe in the front of the rich internet applications development that powered hundreds of interactive websites and mobile applications.

But there is a cloud around Adobe, there are too many applications to choose from and Adobe is betting all with the its rich media tools and putting aside its traditional graphic suites that are what Adobe is known for. There is not much to see in any given update, the release of new graphic tools has been slow and only a few bunch of those new tools get to amaze the designers, adaptation of Adobe’s applications to the Mac OS X reaches the indifference level, Adobe now spend its time tweaking its business and internet applications, Mac OS X users can wait. The main reason for Adobe abandonment could be the fact that now Adobe sells more Windows versions of its applications and the other one could be some expressed differences between Apple’s head Steve Jobs and Adobe, but I bet that Steve doesn’t buy more than one copy of Adobe softwares.

Adobe business has been: Graphic tools to power million of designers worldwide, Acrobat, a business oriented electronic document and Rich internet and Mobile applications (thanks to Macromedia’s tools), but now Adobe is changing its strategy, it is transforming itself into a Content Delivery Hub with the Adobe Media Player, an oline/offline Media Application with hundreds of TV programs from all the major TV Networks in North America including CBS, PBS, MTV Networks, Universal Music Group, CondeNet, and Scripps Networks, but with more than a dozen of Adobe strategy is still unclear, competing with iTunes, WMP, Real, Vongo, NBC Direct, Hulu, Brightcove, Joost, Veoh Networks, Yahoo Video and of course Youtube won’t be an easy ride for Adobe, that will tweak its Video Media application to serve its clients needs, providing pay per view or download videos, subscription based content and video rental, some videos will have advertisemeng attatched and revenue from those ads will be shared with content partners.

But with a crowded video business there not much change for another video store being iTunes the de facto video store for payed content and Youtube for the all the rest, Adobe must put its AIR and Flash technology to the extreme and fend ut Microsoft, who has been gaining ground with Silverlight, NBCOlympics.com was powered with Microsoft Silverlight, while this is a small step in Microsoft strategy, seeing it in a business perspective it represents a bigger jump, because it gives Microsoft a vote of confidence.

Real Time Worlds, estudio desarrollador de Crackdown, ha anunciado a través de una nota de prensa que “Desafortunadamente no tenemos ninguna intención de añadir nuevo contenido descargable para Crackdown puesto que ahora estamos centrados al 100% en un nuevo proyecto llamado APB así como otros proyectos que aún no han sido anunciados por lo que no estamos en posición de trabajar en ningún nuevo contenido para Crackdown“, decía Real Time Words.

Estas declaraciones se publican después de que los fans comenzasen una oleada de peticiones al estudio para que éste publicase nuevo contenido descargable, sobre todo después de que el último pack de contenido descargable para Crackdown fue gratuito y probablemente uno de los mejores que se han publicado en los últimos tiempos.

Se trata, no obstante, de una decisión lógica por parte de Real Time Words: Crackdown salió a la venta el pasado mes de marzo de 2007 y no tendría mucho sentido que un año y medio después siguiesen publicando contenido descargable, sobre todo si esto no le reportaría ningún beneficio a la compañía. Además, seguro que muchos preferirían una secuela del juego… quizás sea ése uno de los proyectos que aún no han anunciado.

Apple has been the front runner when it comes in new technology adoptions, we all saw the first imac introduction of the USB, the floppy, the dvd burner, firewire, wifi and many other time saving features. But what really strikes me is the almost abandonment of the Firewire technology.

Firewire has ben the perfect high-speed communication interface, it manage to move real-time data from cameras to computers or from DVD to TV, but we have seen or heard nothing new about this great technology, it must being growing out of the computer space, but even in the electronic segment there is nothing about Firewire… Did Firewire reach the bottom? Maybe not, but the most prominent sponsor of Firewire was Apple and we have seen how Macs come without Firewire at all.

Maybe Apple is sold on USB and pretends we all start enjoying our video transfering via USB, this really sound ridiculous. USB is at the same level of speed of Firewire, but both technologies were created to serve different users needs, USB is and has been the perfect interface for scanners, memory sticks, but when it comes to hardcore inferfaces Firewire is the technology of choice, it is respected in the market and million of consumers and professional equipments come with Firewire.

Apple move is very strange, killing the old Firewire 400 and replacing it with the new Firewire 800 is nice, but removing Firewire completely from a Mac look uncomfortable. I hope Apple has something interesting for the Firewire technology, die without any respect is such a bad thing. Apple helped the mass adoption of USB and now is helping Firewire die over its own hands.

Si revisas tu cuenta en FF verás que puedes alternar la vista estándar con una nueva en fase beta denominada Real-Time, que se corresponde exactamente con la típica funcionalidad de algunos agregadores (pienso en Keegy por ejemplo) que permite la visualización de las noticias a medida que van llegando: una experiencia sin duda entretenida y en algunas ocasiones útil, que sin embargo Louiis Gray considera que en el caso de FF está por debajo de las prestaciones ofrecidas por el buscador de Twitter. No se refiere, claro, al ámbito (Twitter devuelve resultados de todas las cuentas y no sólo de tus follow/ing-ers) sino a la velocidad de actualización

Por supuesto, tengo cuenta en FriendFeed. Pero apenas la frecuento, por las mismas razones que soy usuario convencido de Netvibes, cuya maquetación me permite en un golpe de vista y cinco o siete clics en las correspondientes pestañas abarcar los doscientos o trescientos posts que han llegado tras la última consulta. FriendFeed tiene una interfaz que me parece dispersa y gigantesca: no reúne ni concentra la mucha informaciíon que maneja sino que la aleja a través de sus largas páginas con abundante espacio en blanco.
