Palringo enables picture messaging, text-based messaging and, soon, vocal instant messaging over the iPhone’s data connection.

Palringo integrates with several existing popular instant-messaging (IM) services: AOL’s AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ, Jabber and Windows Live Messenger. People can also use Palringo to contact their friends using iChat, Apple’s IM client.

Palringo offers two unique advantages to iPhone owners:

· People can stay connected to the most popular messaging services at the same time, without the need to switch between applications or use Web-based messaging services.

· In the current absence of multi-media messaging service (MMS) capabilities on the 3G iPhone, Palringo offers the ability to send and receive picture messages using the iPhone’s data connection.

Palringo launches and connects within seconds, with a single screen tap. Palringo then presents a person’s IM contacts in a single, combined, presence-aware list, whichever IM service their contacts are using. Sending a voice, picture or text-based message, whether to an individual or a group, are also single screen-tap operations.

Vocal IM, which is already available on all other Palringo-supported platforms, will be added in the second release of Palringo for the iPhone.

Palringo CEO Kerry Ritz said: “Just as Apple has changed people’s view of what it should be like to use a mobile phone, so Palringo aims to change the way people see messaging. Billions of people already use instant messaging on their home or work computers to communicate with each other. Palringo has added vocal instant messaging and picture messaging and has put IM on the iPhone—that’s a great combination.”

Using Palringo will barely make a dent in an iPhone customer’s data usage: Just one megabyte is sufficient for Palringo to send/receive the equivalent of about 4,500 SMS messages, send/receive about 32 picture messages or send/receive as much as 15 minutes of vocal instant messages.

The service is available worldwide, which means conversations can incorporate people from across the globe, on any mobile network or connected PC or Mac. This makes it very attractive for multi-national corporate users or extended family use.

Palringo for the iPhone is free, and is easy to download and install from Apple’s new App Store. There are no hidden costs, catches or other charges.

As well as the iPhone—both the original and new models—Palringo works on almost all models of mobile phone released in the last two years; visit www.palringo.com.

Tags: aol, <a In the other hand, Microsoft has been showing and promising excellent costumers and business solutions, but some of them failed to passionate the developers. Take .Net for example, take Windows Vista, Take Windows Live Search Books, to name a few of them. Microsoft promises, Apple delivers.

Mobileme interface is clean, easy to use, elegant and pleasant, a mature interface that offers an easy to use layout, something in contrast with Live Mesh interface, that is just the Messenger background all over the screen, please remember that Live Mesh is in a Developer Preview Mode and the final version is still months away.

Live Mesh in the Cloud

This past April, Microsoft demonstrated Live Mesh, a cloud storage service that allows files and folders to be shared and synchronized across multiple devices. Once a folder is set for synchronization, it will be available in all devices, and any changes made to the content of the folder will be reflected across all devices. Live Mesh uses FeedSync to convey the changes made in each device so that the changes can be synchronized. The information about devices and folders participating in a synchronization relationship is not stored locally but at the service-end. Devices in a sync relationship are collectively referred to as a Mesh.

Mobileme up and running

At this year WWDC, Apple retooled the .mac service and renamed it as Mobileme, a syncronization service that will have all your devices updated simultaneaously. with 5GB of combined email and file storage, and 50GB of monthly data transfer for each member.

Third parties support is unknown and virus or any thread is under Apple control, but the price could be a roadblock for some mac users that were expecting a cheaper price for the service.

Apple has so far sold 5.4 million iPhones worldwide, based on data from the end of Apple’s fiscal second quarter, which ended in March.

Tungle is a Microsoft Outlook plug-in that empowers users to coordinate meetings with anyone, across platforms – including iCal, Google Calendar, Lotus Notes, the BlackBerry and now the iPhone – as well as across organizations, time zones and even individuals not using Tungle.

“Smart phone users have demanded a rich interface, real-time information and easy access to their busy calendars.” says Marc Gingras, Tungle CEO. “Tungle is a great fit for this audience. Extending our interface to iPhone™ users means they now have a simple to use and powerful tool to coordinate meetings quickly and efficiently anytime, anywhere away from their computer.”

With Tungle’s new iPhone interface, those checking email on their iPhone device can receive a Tungle meeting invitation with a link. A click on the link launches a browsing session to the Tungle scheduling site formatted for their device. There, they update their availability. Once the meeting is booked, they receive a booked meeting confirmation, formatted for their iPhone calendar.

The Tungle Beta Pilot
A free service, Tungle has been in open beta since April 16, 2008. Anyone who wants to start using Tungle, including the BlackBerry service, can simply visit www.tungle.com to download. The recently launched Tungle Outlook plug-in takes less than 30 seconds to install. It automatically synchronizes with users’ Outlook address books and calendars, eliminating any configuration or complicated setup. This information is kept secure and locally on the user’s machine, and is not uploaded or shared with anyone else or with Tungle. Its IM-like user interface makes it easy for users to understand and to start using within seconds.

Notice:
Desinformado.com is not recommending this product and is not endorsed by any company which products are portrayed in any of our post.

Cisco® today announced an evolved architecture that helps empower businesses to meet and exceed mobility demands and move beyond basic wireless networking into the next generation of business mobility - transforming the way business is done by fostering broader collaboration and new levels of productivity. This announcement is part of Cisco Motion - Cisco’s innovative vision for business mobility that delivers practical solutions to integrate mobile devices, applications, security and disparate networks into a unified platform.

The cornerstone of the Cisco Motion vision is the Cisco 3300 Series Mobility Services Engine (MSE). This appliance-based platform offers an open application programming interface (API) for consolidating and supporting an array of mobility services across wireless and wired networks. Cisco is releasing four initial software offerings for the MSE: Cisco Context-Aware Software, Cisco Adaptive Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (wIPS), Cisco Secure Client Manager and Cisco Mobile Intelligent Roaming. The Cisco MSE and its software integrate with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network portfolio, Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco-compatible devices to expand the reach and value of an enterprise’s mobility system.

Numerous application and solution partners have integrated or plan to integrate with the MSE. This partner ecosystem includes Nokia and Oracle, technology partners like AeroScout, Agito Networks and Airetrak, as well as industry-specific application partners like IntelliDOT and Johnson Controls (healthcare) and OATSystems (manufacturing).

“Today’s business mobility challenges cannot be solved using only traditional wireless LAN solutions when multiple network elements are converging and need to collaborate. Cisco’s Motion approach is a true services-oriented network architecture that creates a mobility network as a platform for integrating key business strategies, processes and goals,” said Brett Galloway, senior vice president of Cisco’s Wireless and Security Technology Group. “To meet and exceed business mobility expectations, IT must secure and manage a range of devices, integrate multiple networks, enable applications, access information with a high level of security, and help ensure a consistent experience regardless of network connection or location.”

Cisco Motion: Accelerating the Evolution of Business Mobility
Information Technology (IT) departments must increasingly manage disparate networks (Wi-Fi, cellular, passive RFID, personal wireless, sensors, Ethernet), to handle a rising number of devices and more applications. The Cisco Motion approach includes the industry’s first mobility architecture that addresses these challenges in the following ways:

Unifying networks: Extending applications to devices regardless of the connection
Managing the client device wave: Securing devices, centralizing client provisioning
Facilitating collaboration: Selecting the right media at the right time and right place
Opening up development: Open API supports integrated applications and services
“Cisco’s mobility vision mirrors Oracle’s approach to application development, which focuses on efficiently connecting users to the information they need to make better business decisions,” said Jon Chorley, vice president of product strategy at Oracle. “Integrating Oracle’s enterprise applications with Cisco’s open mobility platform creates tremendous value for our customers.”

The Cisco MSE’s initial service offerings include the following software components:

Cisco Context-Aware Software captures contextual information from a full range of sensors, mobile devices and RFID tags over the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, allowing businesses to move beyond basic location tracking and gather detailed information about assets like location, temperature, availability, and the application used. Information is channeled into applications, increasing asset-management intelligence. Context-Aware Software supports enhanced received signal strength indication (RSSI) and time difference of arrival (TDOA), improving location accuracy and performance indoors, outdoors and in challenging RF environments.

Flextronics, a valued Cisco partner and global leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider for Cisco and OEMs, is looking to the Cisco Context-Aware Mobility solution to track Cisco’s capital assets as a service at its global manufacturing sites. In Austin, Texas, the company tracks high-value assets like thermal chambers and testing equipment used to manufacture products, enabling it to account for Cisco capital equipment and easily locate it in real-time.

“We need to locate customers’ assets immediately throughout our large facility in real time and conduct regular inventory checks, regardless of location in the manufacturing process. Flextronics’ adoption of Cisco’s location solution is the foundation for supporting capital-equipment logistics management that also enhances our capabilities to reduce inefficiencies and provide true cost-avoidance opportunities,” said Mel Day, director of engineering services of Flextronics. “Looking forward, we see more assets coming into our facilities and devices that need to connect to the network, and Cisco’s new Mobility Services Engine can help alleviate the challenge of managing multiple siloed networks and devices that need to interoperate.”

Cisco Mobile Intelligent Roaming facilitates seamless handoff of dual-mode mobile devices between Wi-Fi and cellular networks based on availability, real-time network information and user location. It integrates with numerous offerings from service providers, third-party vendors and mobile device manufacturers. By utilizing network intelligence and client software integration from its open ecosystem of partners, Cisco Mobile Intelligent Roaming software gives IT additional control of mobile devices while helping to create a seamless mobile experience.

“As users access more applications and services on their mobile devices, businesses need a unified approach to managing the mobile networks and securing their data. A unified mobility system approach like Cisco Motion helps enhance the mobile experiences and ease the automatic handoff between wireless networks in offices and cellular networks in public environments,” said Tom Furlong, senior vice president, Services & Software, Nokia. “Nokia is targeting to deliver automatic handoff to Cisco’s internal Nokia Intellisync Call Connect users and other customers in its next software release.”

Cisco Adaptive Wireless IPS is a new intrusion-prevention system that delivers the feature depth of an overlay solution with the full benefits of an integrated solution. It integrates wireless threat detection, mitigation, vulnerability scanning and performance monitoring into the wireless network. It assists in protecting against rogue access points and clients, wireless hacking and day-zero threats. RF spectrum analysis provides self-healing protection. Proactive prevention includes automated vulnerability analysis, management frame protection and infrastructure authentication. Purpose-built collaboration between wired and wireless intrusion prevention helps provide full protection (Layers 1 to 7) by detecting inappropriate network activity or malware spawned by wireless clients. The Cisco MSE centrally processes, analyzes and correlates events from the Adaptive Wireless IPS monitors, providing broad mobility threat protection.

The final announced MSE software product, Cisco Secure Client Manager, centralizes the security and management of provisioning various mobile devices via the Cisco Secure Services Client 802.1X solution over wired, Wi-Fi, cellular and other wireless networks. It addresses one challenge faced by IT: managing the connectivity and security of Wi-Fi and other mobile devices. The MSE’s open API enables integration with third-party device management software and solutions.

Availability
The Cisco 3350 Mobility Services Engine is scheduled to begin shipping in June 2008 with prices beginning at $19,995 USD. The Cisco Context-Aware Software is scheduled to begin shipping in June 2008. The Cisco Unified Wireless Network Software Release 5.1 ships in May 2008, and includes critical new mobility features, as well as support for the Motion architectural approach. Both the Cisco Adaptive Wireless IPS Software and Cisco Mobile Intelligent Roaming Software are scheduled to ship in the second half of 2008, and the Cisco Secure Client Manager Software is scheduled to ship in the first half of 2009.

Notice:
Desinformado.com is not recommending this product and is not endorsed by any company which products are portrayed in any of our post.

At this year WWDC, Apple retooled the .mac service and renamed it as Mobileme, a syncronization service that will have all your devices updated simultaneaously.

iPhone owners can now download Palringo’s rich messaging service (RMS) application from Apple’s new App Store.

<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/index.php/feed/#usermessage2a" The event highlights the largest contingent of mobile application developers in the event’s history including more than 60 exhibits featuring location, enterprise, social media and productivity solutions as well as the latest devices. This annual event is open to all members of the S60 ecosystem, such as S60 device manufacturers, operators, service providers, hardware technology providers, software developers, analysts, scientists and academics from all continents.

“S60 Summit offers the S60 stakeholders an opportunity to share and discuss the S60 future trends and business opportunities,” said Matti Vänskä, Vice President, Mobile Software Sales and Marketing, Nokia. “Today the collaboration with one of the key stakeholders, Samsung, is strengthened with the launch of the business style L870. This announcement increases the total count of announced S60 devices to 79,” he continues.

S60 supports a wide selection of device segments from S60 device manufacturers. In the S60 Summit, Samsung presented their latest stylish S60 mobile, Samsung L870. Leveraging the capabilities of S60 platform, the device brings full connectivity and business application offering to the hands of the business professionals.

“We are happy to compliment our product portfolio with yet another appealing S60 mobile, Samsung L870 that is fully customized with style, performance and user interface,” says, Jongin Kim, Vice President of Mobile Communication Division of Samsung Electronics. “With S60, we can successfully deliver the latest mobile technology with fully customizable applications and intuitive user interfaces.”

In this event, S60 further demonstrated the extended capabilities announced in April at Web 2.0 in San Francisco. The evolution of S60 Web Run-Time offering allows creation of personal and context aware widgets with access to information and functionalities from the user’s mobile device. This enables the development of exciting new services and mash-ups by combining the power of the Web with the power of the S60 platform. S60 is also expanding its support for open source innovation through Open C++, bringing support for Standard Template Library and other popular platform-independent C++ libraries to the S60 platform. The implementation of these technologies was demonstrated by several companies at the S60 Summit expo.

Today, S60 also announced the opening of the Ambassador website. The S60 Ambassador program encourages and engages the early adopters consumer segment in discussion and sharing information on S60-based products, services and applications. Visit and register at the Ambassador website at www.ambassadors.s60.com

Notice:
Desinformado.com is not recommending this product and is not endorsed by any company which products are portrayed in any of our post.
