Fuentes: Flowering Toilet | Auditory Blog | Imagen: Clipper Nolan

BlogOcio: Robyn Hitchcock - Shadow Cat (Comentar)

Sugarland comes back with another set of fresh, contemporary country music songs that should only increase their ever-growing fanbase. They have emerged as one of the hottest contemporary music acts in the country. With a solid debut album, and now a terrific sophomore release, coupled with very positive reviews of their live performances, it seems the sky is the limit for Sugarland. The duo, consisting of Atlanta natives Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, are indeed “enjoying the ride” hence the title of their second album.

Sugarland began as a trio, but Kristen Hall left the band to focus more on songwriting, and less on the grueling road tour life. The now duo has continued seemingly just as strong as before, and the songwriting doesn’t seem to have suffered.

The formula hasn’t changed much on Sugarland’s new album, but that’s probably how their fans want it. Why fix something that isn’t broken? So expect to find more straightforward, radio-friendly country tunes, about small towns and rebellion and working towards the American dream. Most of the songs have a positive bent, but in a sincere manner that no doubt connects with the soul of their audience. Songs like Settlin’ embody Sugarland’s approach to songwriting perfectly, with its infectious chorus, “I ain’t settlin’/For just getting by/I’ve had enough so-so/For the rest of my life” with the chorus wrapping up with “I ain’t settlin’ for anything less than everything.” After kicking off Enjoy the Ride with this heartfelt personal anthem, the mood turns more nostalgic with County Line and Want To.

One of my favorite songs on the album is Everyday America. It has the kind of blue-collar, small town spirit that the Sugarland fanbase should eagerly embrace. Jennifer Nettles warmly growls out the chorus, “Oh everybody’s dreamin’ big/Oh, everybody’s just gettin’ by/That’s how it goes in everyday America/A little town and a great big life.” On the song, “Happy Ending” they touch on a more universal theme: “From the beginning/We’re all looking for a happy ending.”

There’s also songs to just kick your heels up to. “Mean Girls” is a fun ditty that both teenagers and their parents will be able to relate to.

“Stay”, my favorite track on Enjoy the Ride, was penned by Nettles only, while most of the other tracks were a collaboration between Nettles, Bush, and other talented songwriters, including former American Idol contestant Vanessa Olivarez. Stay takes the unusual approach of writing from the perspective of the “other woman” and the twist at the end makes for a great personal anthem.

While the songwriting is solid, it’s the amazing voice of Jennifer Nettles that really sets Sugarland apart from other contemporary country music acts. She is equally comfortable in belting out a chorus or softly singing with a magnificent vulnerability.

Track List:

01 Settlin’ 02 County Line 03 Want To 04 Everyday America 05 Happy Ending 06 These Are The Days 07 One Blue Sky 08 April Showers 09 Mean Girls 10 Stay 11 Sugarland

••••••••••

http://lix.in/f0e286

••••••••••

password: coyote

Beverley Craven has established herself as one the UK’s most respected and gifted singer/songwriters.

Born in Sri Lanka in 1963, Craven and her family moved to Hertfordshire when she was two. Her formative years were spent learning classical piano and taking part in regular swimming competitions. Craven’s taste in music developed slightly late and bought her first record, ‘Telephone Line’ by ELO at the age of 15. As her tastes developed, she began listening to Elton John, Kate Bush and Stevie Wonder, writers who she believed “made pop records that were very musical and very personal”. After leaving school Beverley ventured to London where she began writing her own songs and recording demos.

Bobby Womack who heard the demos was so impressed that he offered to bring Beverley to the US and sign her to his own production company. She politely declined, but toured Europe as one of Bobby’s backing vocalists.

Beverley continued to search for the right people to guide her career and handed out cassettes to anyone she met. One such tape fell into the hands of John Glover (Manager of Go West) and he decided that he should be the one to sign her for management a deal.

Beverley’s self-titled debut album was released in July 1990. By the end of her first tour (famously sponsored by tampax), in February 1991, her album began to sell steadily and the single “Promise Me” reached number 3 in the U.K. singles chart on May 20th.

Her album reached the 1 million sales mark in January 1992 and turned double platinum in the UK. It reached Gold status in France and Ireland, and Silver in Holland. In February 1992, a heavily pregnant Beverley performed at the Brits Awards where she was nominated in three categories (Best British Newcomer, Best Female Artist, Best British Album) and winning the Newcomer award .

Her second album “Love Scenes”, featuring the hit singles “Love Scenes”, “Mollie’s Song” and her take on the ABBA classic “The Winner Takes It All” was released in 1993 and reached number 4 in the UK album charts. Craven undertook a tour of the UK taking such prestigious venues as Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Following such rapid success, Beverley decided to step back from the hectic pace of her career and spend time with her young family.

After a lengthy break, she returned with her third album “Mixed Emotions” in 1999. The album was well received by fans and critics alike and Beverley embarked on a lengthy UK tour. Following this, Beverley once again decided to take time out from her career and despite a greatest hits package released in 2004 and a series of low key appearances, Craven has remained fairly quiet.

In the winter of 2007, Beverley Craven will release an autobiography which will focus on her life, career, music and battle with cancer. She hopes to have an accompanying CD with the book and will once again perform a series of much anticipated concerts throughout the year.

Track List:

01 Love Scenes 02 Love Is The Light 03 Hope 04 Look No Further 05 Mollie’s Song 06 In Those Days 07 Feels Like The First Time 08 Blind Faith 09 Lost Without You 10 The Winner Takes It All

Download includes front cover

•••••••••••

http://lix.in/0832d7

•••••••••••

password: coyote

Saint Mary is a mature, refined album of diverse, sometimes humorous, sometimes gloomy portraits. Granted, they’re studio portraits, for good or ill. The elegiac title track, for example, portrays a shattered diva (”Where are you going/Brandy on your breath/Bottle’s open, spilled across the desk/Snifter’s broken, smashed against the wall”) from a literary distance: McMurtry’s slightly hangdog baritone and the shimmering, Pro Tooled setting keep the listener out of harm’s way.

The fuzzed-up “Lobo Town” cuts to the diagnosis right off the bat (”Grand Daddy’s good name/Fits like a shackle and a chain”) and then catalogs the sickness of a drugged-up rich boy with a 2/4 beat that keeps things moving along as gracefully as McMurtry’s narrative skill.

It’s worth noting that McMurtry seldom bothers to sing; his metier is a Lou Reed-ish patter that hits a deadpan precision. He doesn’t sound as if he doesn’t believe the stories he tells–which is probably why they’re so easy to enjoy. Even when he rhapsodizes about a pair of kissing cousins on the rockabilly family-reunion epic “Choctaw Bingo,” it’s amusing rather than appalling: “I want to get between ‘em/With a great big ol’ hard-on like a old Bois d’Arc fence post/You could hang a pipe-rail gate from/Do some sister twisters ’til the cows come home.” Indeed, the singer is so entertaining that I figure his shallow shadow brother is due for at least as much of a good time as McMurtry gives us with his tales.

Personnel: James McMurtry (vocals, guitar, slide guitar); Stephen Bruton (electric guitar, baritone guitar, mandolin); Ronnie Johnson (guitar, bass, background vocals); David Grissom (guitar); Lisa Mednick (accordion); Earl Poole Ball (piano); Ian McLagan (Wurlitzer piano, organ); Darren Hess (drums, shaker); Paul Pearcy (tambo, maracas, percussion, cowbell); Randy Garibay, Jr., Myra Spector (background vocals).

Track List:

01 Dry River 02 Valley Road 03 Saint Mary Of The Woods 04 Out Here In The Middle 05 Lobo Town 06 Broken Bed 07 Red Dress 08 Gulf Road 09 Gone To The Y 10 Choctaw Bingo

Download includes front and back artwork

••••••••••

http://lix.in/de2cc7 http://lix.in/f56494

••••••••••

password: coyote

It’s one of his earliest memories: He’s four years old, standing up on a box in front of his father’s big band, baton in hand, conducting. Though his dad stood behind him, doing the real work, for Dan it was a foreshadowing of what his life would be — following in his father’s footsteps to become the leader of the band. “It was an amazing feeling,” he declared decades later during a series of discussions for these notes. “To be immersed in music. It felt both very magical and powerful. And I was fearless.”

When the road started calling Dan again to tour for his album, “Nether Lands”, the act of pushing a new album started to seem too crassly commercial, too much about money and too little enough about music. So in the face of the greatest success of his career, he chose to make his next album completely about music, without any commercial aspirations whatsoever. It would be an opportunity to step away from the madness for a moment, and create an album that celebrated the pure joy of making music. He invited Tim Weisberg, the famous flautist who played with him on “Give Me Some Time” from “Nether Lands” to make the album a duet. With a cover photo of the two musicians looking like brothers with matching beards and long hair, the album was entitled, “Twin Sons Of Different Mothers”.

The two twins had planned a grandiose orchestral piece to close the album. They recorded the entire track only to discover — too late — that the piano was out of tune with the orchestra and had to be redone. Rather than incur that cost, Dan wrote a quick song — now thinking that maybe one commercial track might not be such a bad idea — and at the last minute, “The Power Of Gold” was recorded and added to the album.

It became one of the biggest hits of his career, causing the mostly instrumental Twin Sons to become a colossal hit. Dan, who had expected it to be savagely attacked by the critics, decided to skip the bloodbath by jetting off to Europe with friends prior to its release. In Switzerland, he was flabbergasted to receive an excited call from Irving Azoff informing him that the album had gone Top 20.

All songs were written by Dan Fogelberg with the exception of “Tell Me To My Face” cowritten by Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks and Graham Nash and “Since You Asked” by Judy Collins.

Personnel: * Dan Fogelberg - synthesizer, acoustic guitar, bass, guitar, mandolin, percussion, piano, electric guitar, keyboard, vocals, background vocals, voices, slide guitar, classical guitar * Tim Weisberg - flute, percussion, oboe, piccolo * David Breinenthal - bassoon * Gary Coleman - percussion * Vincent DeRosa - French horn * Earl Dumler - English horn * John Ellis - organ, oboe * Bobbye Hall - percussion, conga, cowbell * Don Henley - vocals, harmony vocals * John Leslie Hug - guitar, harp * Jim Keltner - drums * Joe Lala - percussion, conga * Neil Larsen - piano, keyboard, electric piano * Andy Newmark - synthesizer, drums * Norbert Putnam - bass * Ann Mason Stockton - harp * Florence Warner - vocals, background vocals * Willie Weeks - bass

Track List:

01 Twins Theme 02 Intimidation 03 Lazy Susan 04 Guitar Etude No. 3 05 Tell Me To My Face 06 Hurtwood Alley 07 Lahaina Luna 08 Paris Nocturne 09 Since You’ve Asked 10 The Power Of Gold

Download includes front cover

••••••••••

http://lix.in/3f8090

••••••••••

password: coyote

'Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters' by Gina Fant-Saez. This eBook is great for anyone who wants to get right into protools recording. The hands on examples are excellent and easy to apply to your own music. It is written in a way that makes it easy to understand and apply the concepts. I bought protools 101 too and this eBook covers all if not more of the material in that book in a much more user friendly way with color screen shots that make it easy to follow. I highly reccommend it for anyone interested in digital recording with protools. 'Pencil Sketching' by Thomas C. Wang. So many art books give long-winded descriptions of what to do, and even how to do it, yet they fail to capture the essence of what makes a drawing good. Wang concentrates on simple elements and rules of thumb, providing a wealth of wisdom in a few words and pictures. This eBook show you how to hold a pencil, line, composition, values and shading, etc. The author also leads you through how to make specific elements: landforms, trees, water, and more. America outsources everything else — why not country music? Like Neil Young, Robbie Robertson and Shania Twain, Kathleen Edwards is a Canadian who crafts music that’s often more “American”-tasting than domestic brands. But she’s not fronting. On her strongest album yet, she sets a poignant road tale between New York and Ontario (”Buffalo”) and pens a fierce, Crazy Horse-ish squall about crack, murder and racism in her own back yard (”O Canada”). The hottest border-crossing tune, though, is “Oil Man’s War,” a cascading-piano story-song about two kids, Bobby and Annabel, that conflates Vietnam-era draft-dodging with modern geopolitics. Obviously, it isn’t likely to woo Nashville radio. Neither is “The Cheapest Key,” a harmonica-charged heartland rocker whose alphabetized first verse declares, “B is for bullshit.” Too bad for Edwards, who surely knows that the image of Annabel’s hand on Bobby’s thigh while they break north deserves to outlive all the pap on the current country countdown. Track List: 01 Buffalo 02 The Cheapest Key 03 Asking For Flowers 04 Alicia Ross 05 I Make The Dough, You Get The Glory 06 Oil Man’s War 07 Sure As Shit 08 Run 09 Oh Canada 10 Scared At Night 11 Goodnight, California •••••••• http://lix.in/0f769405 •••••••• password: coyote

On request a repost cause some of the files were deleted. The 1970s produced a peculiar school of singer-songwriters whose narrative-driven lyrics set them apart from their self-reflective peers. Think of David Ackles, Tim Buckley, Tim Hardin and Randy Newman on the fringes, and far nearer the mainstream, the “Captain Jack”-era Billy Joel and earnest-to-the-core Harry Chapin. Chapin first made a splash in 1972 with “Taxi,” a claustrophobic little melodrama set in a cab. He made the top 20 two years later with the familial “Cat’s in the Cradle.” Though he’d never climb so high again, songs such as “W*O*L*D” and “Dance Band on the Titanic,” and albums like Verities & Balderdash kept the folk crooner in the spotlight. From there, he championed a variety of social causes until he was killed in a 1981 auto accident. Story of a Life packages three discs of Chapin recordings in one attractive box. More than most songwriters, Harry Chapin lived his songs. A filmmaker, a taxi driver, a father, an antihunger activist, Chapin brought keen observation to his gift for vivid, touching story songs. This three-disc collection is the first to span Chapin’s entire career, from his days with the Chapin Brothers through his ’70s chart successes and tragic end in 1981. Rarities like the 1966 Chapin Brothers track “Someone Keeps Calling My Name” stand beside his famous 1974 hit “Cat’s in the Cradle” and live tracks, completing a musical portrait of a quintessentially American storyteller. Track list: 1. Taxi 2. Someone Keeps Callin’ My Name - Chapin Brothers 3. Could You Put Your Light On Please 4. Empty 5. Greyhound 6. Any Old Kind Of Day 7. Sunday Morning Sunshine 8. Sniper 9. Better Place To Be 10. They Call Her Easy 11. Mr Tanner 12. Mail Order Annie 13. WOLD 14. Old College Avenue 15. Circle 16. Short Stories 17. Cat’s In The Cradle 18. I Wanna Learn A Love Song 19. 30000 Pounds Of Bananas (live) 20. Shooting Star 21. What Made America Famous 22. Vacancy 23. Dreams Go By 24. Tangled Up Puppet 25. Rock 26. She Is Always Seventeen 27. Mayor Of Candor Lied 28. Caroline 29. Laugh Man 30. Taxi (live) 31. Corey’s Coming 32. If My Mary Were Here 33. Dance Band On The Titanic 34. Mismatch 35. I Wonder What Happened To Him 36. Dancin’ Boy 37. Flowers Are Red (live) 38. Poor Damned Fool 39. Jenny 40. I Wonder What Would Happen To This World 41. Old Folkie (live) 42. Remember When The Music (reprise) 43. Catherine Britt has previously released two traditional based albums, had a major deal, and spent the summer on the road with Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson. A lot has changed over the past few months. Her label and her parted ways, she returned home to Australia, was picked up by ABC Records, and is unleashing her new album “Little Wildflower” to our ears. Grammy award winning producer Brett Beavers sat behind the board and helped Catherine move out of the traditional style a bit and infuse her brand of pop into her style of country to make a solid album with a little bit of something for any fan of today’s country. Like many future honky tonkers, Daniels played in a number of bands and found his way into a good many dives. Being underage was not keeping him from his dreams, and after he graduated from high school, he set off for Nashville, something he would do several times before finding his way through the Music City system. Discovered by a member of Arista’s A&R staff while rehearsing a song he wrote in a Nashville studio, Daniels was soon signed. Releasing his self-titled debut project on September 15, 1998, placed Daniels on the rising tide that seemed to indicate a return to more traditional forms of country music. With a strong baritone voice and some hearty honky tonk songwriting skills, Daniels appeared to be in the right place at the right time. I was first introduced to Kristyn Smyth through her successful release on the Country Hotdisc with “The Heart Of Dixie,” of which I wrote, “While most of today’s female, so called Country artists are putting out pop records, Kristyn is very modern, but very definitely country. Hopefully, “The Heart Of Dixie” will do well enough for Kristyn to show the major labels that you can appeal to today’s young country music fans without crossing over into pop.” Well, the song did do well and I now get the chance to review her debut album for Barrister Records, a small indie record company in Alabama. The album contains a fairly even mix of slow, mid and uptempo songs, with stand out tracks for me being, the afore mentioned “The Heart Of Dixie,” “Strong As An Oak,” a terrific song about having the strength to walk on out on a failed relationship, “The Likes Of You,” “Never Gonna Leave To Gone,” another successful single release in the EMS European charts and the title track, “Got A Little Devil In Me” a great song, penned by Lamar Morris that tells of growing up and learning about love for the first time. I also enjoyed very much the Lamar Morris/Wes Laird penned “It Just Happened” surely another contender for release as a single. Kristyn lists her biggest influence as Faith Hill, but listening to this excellent album of modern Country music, I would place her nearer to Pam Tillis. With her beautiful looks, terrific voice and the backing of talented label honcho’s Lamar Morris and Wes Laird, it is surely only a matter of time before Kristyn Smyth is picking up awards alongside Faith and Pam. All I hope is that she doesn’t follow Faith Hill into Pop music, Country needs young talent like this! Track List: 01 The Heart Of Dixie 02 The Likes Of You 03 Strong As An Oak 04 Never Gonna Leave To Gone 05 Where Are You Boy 06 Love Takes Time 07 Got A Little Devil In Me 08 Bittersweet 09 I Might Feel Bad, But Boy Do I Look Good 10 Small Talk 11 It Just Happened 12 Where Do You Go Download includes the only front cover I could find •••••••• http://lix.in/e3ff3f71 •••••••• password: coyote

As the Kendalls, Jeannie and her father Royce created commercial, tradition-based hits (”Heaven’s Just a Sin Away” and “Thank God for the Radio”) and became among the most successful duos of the late ’70s. The hits had been far fewer when they began work on this acoustic album in 1998, prior to Royce’s sudden death of a stroke. Aided by Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Allison Moorer, Ricky Skaggs, and Rhonda Vincent, Jeannie completed the album in fine fashion. Her solo vocals showcase a Partonesque grace and light, wistful quality that fits bluegrass accompaniment so seamlessly that one wonders, if she really required quite as many duet partners. No matter. The revivals of Holly Dunn’s hit “That’s What Your Love Does to Me” and the McCarters’ “Timeless and True Love” (with Jackson) are vibrant and crisp. “Jack and Lucy,” with Steve Gulley, is particularly moving. Two tracks with Royce, completed shortly before his death, stand as a worthy reminder of the Kendalls’ magnificent past, while the album as a whole reveals Jeannie’s undeniable potential. Track List: 01 That’s What Your Love Does To Me 02 Love Chooses You (Rhonda and Darrin Vincent) 03 Timeless And True Love (Alan Jackson) 04 I Wonder Where You Are Tonight (Royce Kendall) 05 Old Friends (Alison Krauss) 06 Smoky Lonesome (Darrin Vincent & Ricky Skaggs) 07 Just A Memory 08 Train Of Thought (Royce Kendall) 09 Wishing Well Blues 10 The Color Of Her Eyes (Rhonda and Darrin Vincent) 11 Serious Doubt (Allison Moorer) 12 Jack And Lucy (Steve Gulley) Download includes front cover •••••••• http://lix.in/12a1765f •••••••• password: coyote

The sexism that so often goes hand-in-hand with assigning credit for popcraft is virtually always a one-way street. From the naysayers who claimed Courtney Love owed her career to Cobain and Corgan, to the implication that M.I.A.’s is chiefly Diplo’s creation, to the innumerable female pop stars who get treated like automatons incapable of creative input (while Justin Timberlake is lauded as a savvy popsmith, of course), the same unfortunate scenario continues to play out of a woman’s work being attributed to a man. Fortunately, like some sweet Title IX of indie-rock accreditation, Johnathan Rice has come along to help rectify the gender imbalance. That’s because Rice is currently dating indie queen Jenny Lewis, who just happens to get co-writing credit on seven of the eleven tracks from her beau’s sophomore full-length, Further North, which suspiciously also happens to be a significant improvement over his dreary debut, ‘Trouble Is Real’ in 2005. Most obviously and blessedly, Rice has gone from sounding like a strict Mayer copyist to more judiciously appropriating several vaguely earthy baritones, alternately evoking David Bazan, Jakob Dylan, David Lowery, and the Doves’ Jimi Goodwin. Seemingly baby steps, I know, but worlds better than perpetually expecting him to segue into a karaoke rendition of “Your Body Is a Wonderland”. A little vocal variation also helps mask the fact that Rice still hasn’t figured out he’s far better acclimated to loping, unforced folk than harder-charging rock, stumbling over the bashing, stop-start rhythms of “THC” and “Giving It Up” when his truest mien lies in the gentler, more rambling likes of “End of the Affair” (a duet with Lewis) and “The Middle of the Road”. Of course, you’d expect Lewis’ contributions to be most noticeably lyrical, and it’s true that Further North frequently treats her pet themes of institutional disillusion (”We’re All Stuck Out in the Desert”) and hipster-to-sell-out hand-wringing (”The Middle of the Road”, the title track). Interestingly enough, however, those latter two songs are credited solely to Rice, as is the album’s other true lyrical standout, the progress-busting nature fable “The Ballad of King Coyote”. Meanwhile, the remaining songs that bear at least a portion of Lewis’ stamp are generally scarcely more compelling than the material on Rice’s debut. Still, even at its best, Further North isn’t close to being on par with Lewis’ magnificent Rabbit Fur Coat, suggesting the Emmylou of Laurel Canyon may have been on cruise control here. On the other hand, at least it appears Rice has been taking solid notes. Track List: 01 - We’re All Stuck Out In The Desert 02 - Further North 03 - End Of The Affair 04 - The Middle Of The Road 05 - THC 06 - It Couldn’t Be Me 07 - Giving It Up 08 - The Ballad Of King Coyote 09 - What Am I Going To Do 10 - Hard To Believe 11- It Is Best To Keep It All Inside Download includes front cover •••••••• http://lix.in/70ae2f4f •••••••• password: coyote

Robin English’s Velvet-Covered Brick packs hit after hit, with two top-twenty hits in the Texas charts and more to come. From the humorous and thought-provoking rewrite of the classic “Mama’s Don’t Let Your Cowboys Grow Up To Be Babies” to the rich story telling and gritty harmonica playing on “Cotton Field Girl,” this album is deep with artistry and entertainment and well worth the investment. In a storm of long, golden hair, Robin English mesmerizes her audience with gutsy harmonica riffs and her unmistakable sultry, powerful voice. ” This Texas gal … has been… gathering fans and believers in her wake ” (Nashville Music Guide). Those who hear her, are blown away: ” Robin English is a force of nature, ” American Songwriter /Music Row Magazine ’s music journalist, Larry Wayne Clark. Robin’s single on Sony/Columbia, ” Girl In Love ,” was on GAC’s Top Ten videos and Billboard’s Top Single Sales for more than 8 months. She has been receiving standing ovations opening for Willie Nelson. Willie said “she knocked ‘em out!” There’s no doubt that ” Robin English is a pure artist who needs to be heard…the sooner the better. ” (Hal Ketchum). Like many artists, Robin grew up in a musical family and moved to Nashville to pursue her dream. She and her band played in clubs all over town. She wrote over 500 songs with more than 130 songwriters. During that time, she joined a group called the Young Riders which included her friends Blake Shelton, Rachel Proctor, and Ryan Murphey. Before long, the buzz reached Music Row. Robin signed her first record deal in 2000 with Sony/Columbia Records. Sony was so impressed with her production style, they asked her to coproduce an album with several acclaimed producers. During the following year, she recorded with Paul Worley, Kyle Lehning, George Massenburg, and Kim McLean. Her single, ” Girl In Love ” came out just three weeks before the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Despite the confusion of a nation in mourning and a label in disarray, “Girl In Love” was on GAC’s Top Ten videos and was on Billboard’s Top Single Sales for more than 8 months. After 5 downsizes at Sony which ultimately ended in a complete regime change, Robin asked to be released. She used this time to work on new music and bolster her efforts with her band. Since then, Robin has opened for many headliners including Clint Black, Hal Ketchum, Roger Creager, Will Hoge, Brad Paisley, Joe Diffee, Mark Chesnutt, and most recently, Willie Nelson. She also had the great honor of entertaining our troops. In December 2005, Robin signed a new deal with Brass Ring Records. In early 2006, she finished the video for her single, ” I’m The One ,” which was seen on CMT.com. In 2007, Velvet Covered Brick stayed in the Texas charts and made Robin English one of the Top 40 most played artists for the whole year. Drawing from her heritage and experience, Robin English is a true artist with a Texas soul. Track List: 01 - Cotton Field Girl 02 - Enjoy The Ride 03 - Mission Of Mercy 04 - The Least I Can Do 05 - Mamas Don’t Let Your Cowboys Grow Up To Be Babies 06 - Wake Up Loving You 07 - Yellow Rose In Me 08 - Baby, You’re The Man 09 - I’m The One 10 - Lion And The Lamb 11 - Cotton Field Girl (Radio Edit) Download includes front cover •••••••••• http://lix.in/61b8c797 •••••••••• password: coyote
