As you all probably know, as of this post I’m in Orlando, starting my engines for the legendary trek to that mythical land called Texas.

The whole flight was so easygoing and hassle free that it kinda scared me. After such a rare pleasant experience I expected everything to turn into a clusterfuck as soon as I set foot in Florida, but that was not the case. Even the cab ride to our motel was a breeze. The cabbie was a silent Jamaican dude who reminded me greatly of Little Jacob from Grand Theft Auto 4. I half expected him to pop open his trunk and try to sell us an AK47. Unfortunately we arrived at night, so we couldn’t appreciate the scenery on our way to our fabulous, luxurious Motel 6.

Now let me tell you something about Orlando. This city is a gigantic living, breathing tourist trap. And not in a bad way. The city is so clean, so organized and everything seems so perfect and clean cut that you kind of get hypnotized into having a good time and splurge your ass out. Even two temporary bums like us with a limited budget and a limited stay are sometimes pulled by the allure, but our main mission keeps us in check, as hard as it may be. I mean everywhere you fucking look: Theme parks, restaurants, water parks, go-kart tracks, all-you-can-eat buffets. Fuck! it’s like the whole damn city is a gigantic transvestite hooker beckoning you to come and snort Tinkerbell’s fairy dust off of it’s ass. It’s like a PG13 version of Vegas. Yep, there’s screaming, unruly kids kids everywhere (my kryptonite), since it’s the beginning of fucking summer. Aside from money, that’s another factor that keeps us out of the parks. Fucking snot machines. We just had to arrive here smack dab in the beginning of the “high season”. Ugh.

*in case you noticed, the letter H in my keyboard is now just dangling off, so somehow I don’t have to press it as hard. So for your relief, hopefully there will be no more H-less posts.*

But Orlando and it’s fake charm is not the highlight of these days. Oh no. If you read my previous post, the one I made a few hours before I got on the plane, I made a particular comment that went like this:

Well, I’m off to bed, need my beauty sleep in order to mentally prepare for te crazyness tat will be tomorrow. Even thoug I ave a suspicion it will all be anti-climactic and uneventful. Unless I get my acceptance letter rigt before going to te airport. Tat would make it te best fucking fligt ever.

Well, as soon as I arrived in Orlando, we immediately proceeded to set up our wi-fi connection. Yes, even before we unpacked. Hey, don’t hate. We’re geeks. Internet is our lifeblood. Without it we wither and die. So anyway I opened up my email and saw a particular one that made my heart skip a beat. I opened it and inside I found this:

I AM OFFICIALLY POINTING AT MY DICK AND SAYING *EAT IT!* YOU NAY-SAYING CUMBUCKETS! YOU NEGATIVE CUNT FARTS!!! YOU CASTRATING COCK PIRATES!!! YOU CAN’T TELL ME NOTHIN! KNOW WHY? BECAUSE I GOT IN. Whew! that’s a load off my chest. So yes. As of last friday, I am a student in the prestigious Guildhall, most awesome of game development schools, where I shall train incessantly to become a kickass game art designer.

What is most remarkable about this revelation is that the comment I made on my blog actually CAME TRUE. I just threw out there the possibility of being accepted just before boarding the plane, and lo and behold, the plane left like a quarter after 8 p.m., and the e-mail’s time of arrival is 7:40 p.m.!!!! That right there is the most freakishly awesome thing that has ever happened in my life. It’s like I willed the application into existence. Somewhere out there that bitch who wrote The Secret must be gushing rivers of joy out of her million dollar vagina. Shit is unreal. If I had checked my email right before boarding the plane I would have flipped the fuck out and those Travel Security people would have tasered and cavity searched the shit out of me.

_{Hmmm. University acceptance letter plus a cavity search? could such a state of Nirvana exist in this world of ours?}

I’d like to give a shout out to all ma’ bitches and hoes thank all my friends who supported me and assured me that I’d make it, and to the ones who doubted me, even in thought, I repeat:

EAT IT. EAT IT LONG AND HARD AND COVERED IN CAPSAICIN.

Bitches.

Anyway I’m going to bed. We have a long day tomorrow  and It’s very likely that we set out to Texas on the same day. If we are, expect many pictures to surface soon, and the upcoming housewarming non-party at our new crib in Plano.

NEW YORK, USA (AVING) — Live Luggage(www.liveluggage.com), the powered luggage pioneer, has spent five years designing and developing power assisted luggage with the PA (Power Assisted) Series of suitcases.

The amazing design uses revolutionary pancake/flat wheel technology and includes an Anti-Gravity handle that distributes a major part of the total weight over the powered wheels increasing efficiency and making it much more easily transportable than standard luggage.

Live Luggage has designed and manufactured a true state-of-the art travel system that includes an intelligent torque control system which powers the wheels when the handle is tilted and pressure is applied on the handle, which triggers ‘force sensors’ at the base and is designed to power up only when help is required. Additionally the tilt switch/sensors only power the wheels at certain angles - between slopes of 15% and 35%. If you accidentally drop the case or let go, it won’t run away from you. In these instances, the case will go beyond its ‘active’ angles, so no power will be delivered to the motors.

The handle can be adjusted to three height levels making it as comfortable for people of all heights. This adjustment is made by lifting a simple catch in the handle grip. For air travellers, there’s an override lock(sideways movement) to ensure the handle remains in lock mode during the flight mechanically cutting the power from the battery. Of course the case can still be used without power.

PA Series cases are powered from a rechargeable 12V NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery pack located inside the base of the case. The electronic management control system is located within the same compartment.

• Adobe Gila's: Esto es totalmente americano con alusion a mexico. Su fuerte aparentan ser las margaritas. Buenos precios [solo comi papitas, haha]. Musica rock en ingles. Nota: Cuando fuimos habia musica buena pero no habia gente estaban todos afuera. En esos momentos desee estar en PR. Gringos muy calladitos. Mal!



• Logan's Roadhouse: Hillbillie ambient. Te dan manis para comer y te quedas hooked on them. Las cascaras las tiras al piso. Locales parecen ranchos. Pretty nice. La comida es buena al igual que sus ofertas. Puer white territory country music incluida.



• Olive Garden: Si te gusta la comida italiana tienes que ir a Olive Garden. Yo ordene un Manicotti Formaggio. Me encanto. Next time pruebo la de verengena.



• Golden Corral: Las mejores galletas de avenas con pasas estan aqui. Es estilo all you can eat buffet. Todo un exito. Si no sabes que comer para aqui pagas y cuando veas toda la comida se te quita el hambre con solo verla porque te llenas al instante [buena psicologia de parte de ellos]



• Ceviche: Este lugar es bien tranquilo. Totalmente espanhol. Chorizzos paellas y tortilla espanhola por todos lados. Buena musica y ambiente. Un poco mas formal. Se divide en dos partes: lounge [barra/musica] y restaruante. Buen Caipirinha.



• CityWalk: Aqui hay muchos sitios de janguear y comer. El mas frecuentado es el Latin Quarter [obviamente por los latinos, ha!] pero hay una grandisima seleccion de restaurantes.

Bueno, bueno, bueno, parece que poco a poco y con ayuda del resto de participantes, y sobre todo de Alejandro, me voy enterando de algunas cosillas más de esto de los cruceros. Parece que va mucha gente muy relacionada con el mundo de los viajes, me encanta, creo que me van a enseñar mucho, espero que no se aburran de aguantarme la cantidad de preguntas que tengo…

En su blog, tiene una estupenda review del barco en el que se supone que vamos a ir, junto con horarios y fotografías del interior.

También poco a poco, y gracias a mi compañero de aventura (que Ruth no puede venir) vamos incluyendo algún detalle de puntos de interés en el mapa.

Y también vamos teniendo algún nuevo participante, aunque parece que esto se esta haciendo desear.

Last night I receive an invitation to meet someone via chat who comes from Roses, Gerona. In fact I never heard before about that city, so I decide search info about it and find some really interesting things like their location, in the province of Gerona at Cataluña, Spain and the origin of the name Roses, didn’t comes from English language, it comes from Catalan language, and means Rosas, the same as in English.


Actually the city has a population of almost 18.000 Hab. And their principal activity is tourism offering a lot of things to do in Roses if you visit the town for sure you can get an incredible experience in there.

As I can read Roses, offers a lot of cultural activities such as museums, theater, movies, libraries, art galleries, music and dance schools so you have several options to have a joy time in roses, and of course one of them is the food. Don’t forget to the neighbors about the “Suquet de pescado” one of the Roses town food specialties.

If you’re planning visit Roses during this summer probably you need to find a hotel, so you can use Destinia as your “Hoteles” locator in Spain, or use this string to find “Hoteles en Roses”. This is the kind of things than a lot of people must be enjoying almost one time in their life, a Christian Cruise.

Well, well, folks are actually getting serious about alternative traveling options over today’s fuel guzzling ones. Damien Cally too didn’t want to miss the bus and here’s his version of a solution to this urban problem of pollution and congestion. Hoping that in the next two decades, the number of pedestrian areas, esplanades and parks will increase in urban centres, Damien has designed ‘On’, a Segway look-alike two-wheeler that intends to make our daily commuting to work or other short distance stopovers less stressful.

The Q18 from RAmos’ Mumu Music line of PMPs is thin (7.7mm) with very finished looks that you don’t usually see in Chinese PMPs. It also comes in bold colors that is very appealing to the eyes: black, red, white and baby blue. The dynamic Flash GUI we haven’t seen but the manufacturers thinks highly enough of it to make a special mention. The Chinese review only mentions “simple video playback” besides the usual music, e-Book and photo support. Other specs that we know about include 2.4-inch screen, FM tuner and 20 hours of music playback. The 2GB is priced at 399 yuan.

Vía Newsarama, nos llega una entrevista con el nuevo encargado de la serie protagonizada por Danny Rand, El Inmortal Puño de Hierro, de la que ya hablamos en un anterior post. El primer número, lo tenemos en venta este mismo mes, siendo el número 17 de la serie regular, con lapices de Travel Foreman, quien ya ha participado en los primeros compases de la serie.

La entrevista, sirve para que nos dé su punto de vista del personaje, de sus planes de continuar con la senda empezada por Fraction y Brubaker (bueno no con esas palabras, pero nos dice que no quiere reescribir la historia, así que «a buen entendedor») y del segundo one-shot de Orson Randall, el insperado predecesor de Danny Rand como Puño de Hierro. Por cierto, ese segundo especial, saldrá a la venta en septiembre, a la vuelta de las vacaciones de verano.
